Ideas about blogging, vlogging and other types of logging

So I've been thinking.

I'd actually be up for doing Blog Every Day in 2010. However I've been wondering, would peple actually be willing to join me, or would people see it is as just a sad copy of BEDA? I like blogging and I really think that it helps me get my thoughts down. I don't really want to get on camera and start posting videos on YouTube, as much as I've wanted to in the past. Maybe if enough people like the blog then I will, but until then I'll keep it in text.

In fact, leave comments if you could. I'd really appreciate some feedback about this. Firstly, do you think BED10 is a good idea? Secondly, would you do BED10? Thirdly, would you actually watch if I moved onto YouTube?

Part of the reason I'm wondering is because me and my friend are doing a podcast. We've had the idea of some kind of radio show for literally years. I think the first idea would have been around 2005, so about 4 years. We've gone through re-think after re-think on how to do it and we've now decided on Podcasting. It seems a standard thing to do now, but we still want to, and I just wonder whether anyone would actually listen to us?

Yeah so, please leave a comment if you can, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you and goodnight :)

Conor here,

Simon, I think your observations about blogging hit the nail on the head, and often putting your thoughts into concrete form is a great way of concreting your own notions into formed ideas. I'm very much thinking now about joining you in your blog quest, and i'm looking now as for ways to sign up.

As for the idea of a youtube blog, i'm not so sure. Individual youtube videos seem linked than a blog page, in that you cannot easily refer to earlier ideas on the same page. Also, writing means you can revise and edit what you are saying much easier to get your point across. There is the obvious benefit of non verbal communication withing a video, but i personaly think a podcast would be the way to go. I would certainly listen, especially if it was done in the form of a radio show in conjunction with someone else. I like podcasts as while it is important to listen carefully, you don't have to sit in front of a screen and actively watch to absorb the information.

For now, keep up with the good blogging. Although I have only recently strated readin, I'm rather enjoying your insights and oservations. I liked the movie review, and it would be cool to see more of those.

CATCH UP

Conor
